These illustrations are excerpts from the artist’s field notebook, which she brings along on hikes to document the amazing diversity of life that can be found in one’s neighborhood, open spaces, and forests. The mushrooms pictured above were found in the Monterey Bay Area, California and each specimen is depicted at 2/3 actual size. Each species is represented by a drawing of a single fruiting body, therefore intraspecific variation is not necessarily shown. Though the purpose of this poster is to highlight the diversity of mushroom morphology and coloration, *denotes edible species, while **denotes highly prized edible species.

The lands on which these mushrooms were found make up the unceded territories of the Awaswas, Mutsun, and Rumsen-speaking nations.
