Kelps Enamel Mug

$24.00

This mug features 11 species of kelp that exist in the Monterey Bay, but many of these species’ ranges extend well beyond the bay. Kelps belong to the order of brown algae called Laminariales. Despite its appearance, kelp is not technically a “plant” - it is a “heterokont” with both animal and plant-like characteristics, currently classified in the kingdom Protista.
